The La Jolla Motor Car Classic now named "The La Jolla Concours d’Elegance" car show is April 1st 2012
La Jolla, CA – The 8th Annual La Jolla Concours d’Elegance continues to grow since it was first presented by the La Jolla Historical Society in 2010. The steering committee voted unanimously to change the name from the La Jolla Motor Car Classic to the “La Jolla Concours d’Elegance” for the 2012 show, reflecting the growth into a weekend destination event. Maintaining its April date, the concours will be held on Sunday, April 1st, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, with preceding events on Friday and Saturday, March 30th and 31st leading up to the main event on Sunday.
"The La Jolla Concours d’Elegance" car show is April 1st 2012 and showcases some of the rarest vintage cars in the world.
“We continue to expand our show to attract the best cars around and open the event to more of the community”, said Mike Dorvillier, Chair of the La Jolla Concours d’Elegance committee. “We’ve outgrown our old name, yet we’re still a show for and by ‘car guys’ – we’ll be honoring restorers again this year.”
In addition to the name change, The La Jolla Concours d’Elegance is working on launching a new website – LaJollaConcours.com – in November 2011. “At this point, we want to make people aware of the name change and save the date for the Concours on April 1st. Our website will allow online ticket sales and registration when it launches,” said Dorvillier.
The La Jolla Classic Car Show now the "The La Jolla Concours d’Elegance" car show is April 1st 2012 at La Jolla Cove showcasing some of the best classic, vintage and high performance cars in the world.
Keith Martin returns as the emcee and will present awards recognizing winners in a variety of categories, including cars on the Saturday Motor Tour, Concours specialty classes and special awards such as the “Keith Martin Award”, “Director’s Choice” and more. Additional events preceding the Sunday show include a book signing on Friday, March 30 as well as a guided motor tour of San Diego on Saturday, March 31. Tickets to the Sunday Show are $35 in advance and $40 at the entrance. The car exhibitor registration fee is $100.
